Questions
What families ask us
Which children can come?
Children ages 5 to 12, from kindergarten through about grade 6. Tell us on the contact form which afternoons you are asking about.
What does a weekday look like?
Snack first, then a homework hour and a game on the floor, then the pickup window with free play. Each weekday has its own game.
How does my child get here from school?
When you register, tell us how your child arrives: with an adult, with a sibling or with a person on your list. We confirm the plan with you before the first day and keep it at the front table.
Who may collect my child?
Only adults on your authorized list. We ask for photo ID from anyone we haven't met, and the adult signs the child out.
How does tuition work?
It depends on the grade group and the number of afternoons a week. We go through each part with you before you register.
How do I hold a place, and is there a waitlist?
A place is held once you register and pay the first month. When we are full, we keep a waitlist in the order families asked and call the next family when a place opens.
Is there homework help?
A staff member walks between the tables during homework hour, answers questions and makes sure each child has started. We don't promise finished homework, so you will still look it over at night.
What should my child wear and bring?
Clean indoor sneakers and clothes they can run in. Outdoor shoes stay by the door so the floor stays dry. A labeled water bottle is welcome.
Do your staff speak Russian or Ukrainian?
Yes. Ruslan and Oksana speak Russian and Ukrainian, and they are glad to talk with your family in either language.
What happens when it is smoky, wet or very hot?
The whole afternoon stays inside the hall. Games change to suit an indoor day, and water breaks stay on the clock.
Still have a question?
Call or write, and a person will answer.
