Family policies
What families ask before the first day, answered plainly.
Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
Drop-off and pickup
Only adults on your authorized list may collect a child. We ask for photo ID from anyone we haven't met, and the adult signs the child out at the front table with the time. If the plan for the day changes, tell us by phone.
Late pickup
Staff stay until the last child has gone, and we call you when the window is closing. Repeated late pickups are talked through with the family; the terms are in your registration packet.
When to keep your child home
A child with a fever, vomiting or a contagious illness stays home until they have been well for a full day. If a child feels ill here, we call the first person on your list and a staff member stays close until you arrive.
Meals, snacks and allergies
Snack is a simple plate and water each afternoon. Tell us about allergies on the tour; we ask privately for the details once you register, and the list stays at the snack table.
What to wear and bring
Clean indoor sneakers and clothes your child can run in. Outdoor shoes stay by the door so the floor stays dry. A labeled water bottle is welcome.
Closures for weather and holidays
We follow the local school calendar and close when the schools close for a holiday or a break. When the schools close for snow, we close too, and we call the families on the list first.
Screens and phones
Phones stay in backpacks during the afternoon, and children use the front table phone to call home. We don't run screens as an activity.
Leaving the program
We ask for two weeks' written notice before a child leaves or changes afternoons, so another family can have the place.
Something we didn't cover?
Ask us, and a person will write back.
